To provide all students the best quality of education at very nominal charges through the well qualified and experienced teaching staff. Thus laying solid foundation. To develop interest in children towards social and ethical values. To rouse in them love and affection for the country and humanity as a whole by setting aside the bondages of caste, creed region and religion.

About School

D.A.V. Sr. Sec. School is the premier and prestigious institute in state. The school has three blocks in which Bio. lab, Chem. lab, Computer lab, Library, Sports Room, N.C.C. Room and Music room are separate. All the 53 class rooms are ventilated having facilities. In each block there is number of water coolers to supply cold water to students in summer. One lush green playground in the school provide students all the playing tracks in the games like Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Boxing, Wrestling, Athletics, T.T. room etc. The total school strength is around 1500 and teaching and Non teaching staff is around 77.

Activities of School

The beginning of the school work is with Morning Assembly of the staff and students, presided by the Principal. In addition "Ved Mantras, devotional songs, national anthem, news thought and speeches are our daily feature.

House on duty looks after the entire school activities during the allotted period. Havan Yajna is also performed on every Saturday and on special occasions also. Annual Prize Distribution function, Children's Day, Veer Divas (Shaheed Capt. Amol Kalia's Birthday) are some of the main extra curricular activities. Weekly test, Unit test, Terminal & Board Examinations are conducted regularly.

About School Library

Library is a part of a good educational institution. The school has a well equipped library managed by a well qualified assistant librarian. There is ample number of books, competition books related to medical and engineering exams. Library also subscribes to all leading newspapers & well ranging journals. In addition, Emphasis is rendered on learning through Audio-Visual aids. School book bank provides benefit to poor and deserving students to get their books issued. Nearly 4000 books and New edition books facilitate the students. About School Laboratories : All the laboratories of school are equipped with all the accessories required for grooming the science students - our future engineers, doctors and scientists. Physics, Chemistry, Biology lab and I.T. lab are fully equipped with all the apparatus, chemicals and other modern equipments. Our I.T. lab with 35 computers caters to the practical requirements of all students for 11th &12th classes. New I.P. Lab. & Science Lab. caters to the practical requirements of all students for 6th &10th classes. Smart Classes has been started from this year for Nursery to +2.

N.C.C.

National Cadet Corps in this school brings out the skills and talents of the students.

Besides, house activities, Hawan yajna is performed on every Saturday and Arya Samaj Function is also celebrated once in a year.

In academic field, terminal Examinations, Board exams, Unit Tests, weekly tests are part and parcel of school of school functioning.

Library is the main part of our school. There are about 60,000 books, journals and Maps in the library and is managed by well qualified Librarian Md. Meena Kumari. There are ample number of competition books for every field and competitive exams. Students are also guided through audio video aids. School also provides book bank for the benefit of poor and needy students.

All the school Labs are adorned with all the accessories required for the grooming of future doctors and engineering and scientists.

N.C.C. in the school in the supervision of Mr. Avnesh prepares the students for the service of the Nation. In this year Scout and Guide has been introduced in our school under the guidelines of Md. Jyoti Bala.

School Activities (2024 -25)

16th April 2024: School open for new session 2024-19 with Havan Yajna Ceremony in the presence of Sh. Ramesh Seth, Sh. Dev Raj Saini, Sh. M.L. Sambhar & other members of management along with Principal, Administrative & Staff members.

27th April 2024 : Oath Ceremony was conducted in the morning assembly. In the ceremony, all house incharges & their respective house captains along with other members took Oath for smooth conduct of activities in the school.

29th April 2024 : Celebrated as Labour Day, Md. Poonam Shikhit, Md. Parveen Sharma, Mr. Surjit & Mr. Navjot were taken the initiative to celebrate this day. Student & teachers of Science Department cleaned the school garden / campus & other surrounding area of school.

6th May 2024 : World Red Cross Day & Mother's day was celebrated in the 2nd week of June by Scout & Guide students.

16th May 2024 : World Athletic Day was celebrated by Pt. Wazir Chand House.

30th May 2024 : "Anti Tobacco Day" was celebrated by Captain Amol Kalia House by organizing awareness campaign & Rally.

31st May 2024 : "Anti Tobacco Day" was celebrated by Captain Amol Kalia House by organizing awareness campaign & Rally.

5th June 2024 : "Environment Day" was celebrated by Eco Club On this ocassion charts making, Declamation Competition & plantation took place on the occasion by Principal Mr. D.S. Minhas & other staff members.

10th June 2024 : Declamation was held in school on the occasion of father's Day by Pt. Wazir Chand House.

13th June 2024 : "World Blood Donar Day" was celebrated by Pt. Wazir Chand House. On this occasion Inter House slogan competition were organized.

12th August 2024 : Declamation contest on the occasion of Independence Day by N.S.S. 29th August 2024 :Celebrated as National Sports Day by Cap. Amol Kalia House

5th September 2024 : Dance Competition of Radha Krishna on the occasion of Janamashtmi Celebration. Teacher's Day was celebrated, organized by Swami Dayanand House. Pledge was taken by teachers.

8th September 2024 : Patriotic Dance Competition was organized & World Literacy Day by Pt. Wazir Chand House.

16th September 2024: Ozone Day was celebrated by Pt. Wazir Chand House .

2nd October 2024 : Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated by Scouts & Guide House.

18th October 2024: Greeting Competition, was organised by Capt. Amol Kalia House on the occasion of Deepawali Rangoli, Diya Decoration & Greeting Card competition & Dish making was organised by Capt. Amol Kalia House
